Job Summary

  1. Able to use a wide knowledge of their technical field or advanced knowledge of specific technical practices.
  2. Identifies problems in existing systems and makes modifications following set procedures.
  3. Role focused on day-to-day tasks, supervised closely by Team Lead/Project Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Designing, coding, testing, bug fixing, documenting, and providing technical support in the assigned area.
  2. Ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality and productivity goals.
  3. Following guidelines and checklists for deliverable reviews, reporting status to team lead, and adhering to organizational processes.
  4. Enhancing technical skills through training, self-study, and periodic technical assessments.

Education and Experience Required

Engineering graduate, MCA, etc.

0-2 years of experience.

Competencies Description

  1. Protocol Testing engineers perform activities on 2G/3G/LTE/5G technologies, including:Modem/UE Protocol Stack Testing
  2. Interoperability testing with various Network operators and dealing with NEM labs (Ericsson, Nokia, Alcatel Lucent)
  3. Developing test plans and executing test cases using automation framework, analyzing/debugging issues found.
  4. Proficiency in 3GPP Radio Access Technologies (RAT) and Layer 2, Layer 3 protocols.
  5. Automation using scripting languages like PERL/Python/TTCN.

Platforms

Internal and customer-specific platforms on Linux host.

Technology Standard

Thorough understanding of 3GPP specifications and Network vendor tests.

Tools

  1. QXDM, QCAT, QPST, Prism, Anritsu, Keysight Test instrument knowledge.
  2. Test scripting tools like RTD (for Anritsu) or equivalent, Trace/log collection tools, core dump analysis tools, flashing tools.

Languages

Scripting languages like Shell scripts, TCL scripts, Python, Perl, etc.

C, C++, TTCN.

Specialization

2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, INTEROP TESTING, VSAT-SATCOM.
