Position: Data Scientist
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, Physics, Economics, Applied Mathematics,equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant internship or work experience with data.
- Goold Experience in quantitative methodologies with statistics and causal inference methods.
- Good Experience with statistical software such as R, Python, S-Plus, SAS, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good Experience with statistical data analysis including linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling methods.
- Experience with machine learning on large datasets.
- Ability to draw conclusions from data and recommend actions.
- Ability to teach and learn new techniques such as differential privacy.
- Ability to select appropriate statistical tools for data analysis problems.
About the Job
Data is the backbone of decision-making at Google. Quantitative Analysts work across the organization to analyze and interpret vast datasets, shaping Google’s business and technical strategies. As an Analyst, you collaborate with various teams to identify opportunities for efficiency improvement and strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large complex datasets and solve non-routine analysis problems using advanced problem-solving methods.
- Make business recommendations with effective presentations of findings to stakeholders.
- Research and develop methods to improve the quality of Google’s user-facing products.
- Support the development of new data-driven and privacy-preserving advertising and marketing products.
- Combine experimentation, statistical methods, machine learning, and social science to answer business questions at scale.
