Position: Cloud Operations Engineer / Linux Administrator
Experience: 1 – 4 Years
Location: Chennai
About the Role:
You’ll be part of the Zoho Cloud Operations team, managing important infrastructure in different locations.
Your job is to make sure our cloud services are available, fast, and secure.
Responsibilities:
Set up, manage, and fix server hardware, Linux systems, and related software.
Keep an eye on server and app performance, fixing problems quickly when things go wrong.
Create and handle virtual machines using our tools.
Manage important parts of our infrastructure like DNS, DHCP, and Load Balancers.
Keep Linux systems safe from unauthorized access and follow rules.
Use scripts (like Bash or Python) to make server tasks easier and faster.
Keep an eye on databases and other components like Hadoop, fixing problems when needed.
Find and solve problems in hardware, software, and apps.
Do practice runs of our disaster recovery plan regularly.
Work with different teams to fix problems and make our cloud services better.
Be ready to work in shifts, including nights and weekends.
Required Skills:
1-4 years of experience as a Linux Administrator.
Good understanding of Linux and cloud stuff like Virtualization and Load Balancers.
Know your way around web servers like Apache/Nginx.
Experience setting up lots of servers using automated methods.
Know the basics of networking like VLANs, Firewalls, etc.
Understand important infrastructure parts like DNS, DHCP, NTP.
Familiar with tools like Puppet and Ansible for automation.
Able to write scripts in shell or Python.
Understand server hardware like CPUs, RAM, etc.
Know a bit about SaaS stuff like databases and Hadoop.
Good at working with different teams and communicating well.
Ready to work in shifts and be a team player.
