Job Opportunity: QA Engineer

Overview

Finance operations in growing small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) or startups often face challenges with time-consuming customer collections and vendor payment processes.

Qualifications:

1. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or any similar field.
2. Understanding of software testing principles.
3. Familiarity with manual testing tools like Notion, Jira, or TestRail.
4. Knowledge of automation testing frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Appium.
5. Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Python, Java, or JavaScript).
6. Basic grasp of SQL and database testing.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience with version control systems like Git.
2. Familiarity with financial concepts or fintech industry experience.
3. Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE).

Responsibilities

Manual Testing

1. Create, update, and perform manual tests as needed for the project.
2. Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
3. Document and track defects, collaborating with the development team to resolve issues.

Automation Testing

1. Create, build, and maintain automated test scripts using common tools used in the industry.
2. Execute automated test suites and analyze results for reliability and scalability.
3. Continuously enhance automated testing frameworks and processes.

Programming and Scripting

1. Utilize programming languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript to improve test automation frameworks.
2. Write SQL queries to check if the data is correct and to test the database.
3. Develop scripts for test data preparation and environment setup.

Collaboration and Communication:

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
2. Provide daily status reports to the QA lead, communicating test progress, results, and potential risks clearly and promptly.
3. Join team meetings, review code, and plan sprint sessions together.
